Server Active Only Occasionally During My Activity
After an initial period of operating 24/7 for nearly a year since the activation of QO-100, I collected thousands upon thousands of images from across the satellite's coverage area.
I eventually decided to disable the REALTIME feature and activate it only during my own activity. This decision stemmed from the realization that recording countless images received in a "storm" of transmissions served little purpose, except for enabling the sender to see their own signals being received.
This journey was an enriching experience for me, particularly in developing special applications that enabled the images I received to be instantly uploaded to web servers.
Over time, numerous dedicated sites for QO-100 have emerged, rendering my initial concept obsolete. However, I take pride in having introduced this idea to the satellite community.
Just as with HF operations, I have now deactivated my online and realtime system for satellite use. It remains a fascinating personal experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.
NOTE: The RX pictures are uploaded to the internet server every 300 seconds. Duplicate or highly similar images (≥80% similarity) are automatically deleted on a weekly basis!
